Course Highlights

Many of the nicer golf courses near Vegas are very expensive if you are not a resident.  This is one that balances a nice layout with a little cheaper price in comparison.  If you play later in the day prices come down a fair amount.  Angel Park has two full size 18 hole courses, Mountain and Palm.  This review focuses on the Mountain course but we felt The Palm was somewhat similar vibe and not far off in overall score with that one being an 8.5 in our eyes.  As you can see from the scores the course was well balanced with scores of 8.7 across the board which means conditions were very good, playability was very enjoyable, and the overall visual impact was very good.  The greens on the mountain course (and little lesser degree on the palms) were some of the most challenging that we have seen.  They weren't ridiculous or unfair but be aware they are fast, have long breaks, and can be very challenging to correctly read.  The clubhouse is large and modern with full bar/restaurant that had excellent food.  Practice facilities had a large practice green with nice size dedicated short game area and full size range.

Condition*

8.7

Greens, tees, fairways, and sand traps were all in great condition.  A few fairways with frequent landing spots had little larger number of divots but not a real issue.  Sand traps really well kept although sand depth not analyzed much.

Playability

8.7

Fair amount of space around most holes and very little blind spots.  Although a few holes felt somewhat similar, they were all visually appealing and maintained variety with the green slopes.  Did not feel like any holes were tricked up or gimmicky.

Visual Impact

8.7

Mountains in the background were highly visible from most holes and looked great. Nice amount of greenery mixed well with pristine traps and desert surroundings to provide great visual framing on most holes.
