Course Highlights

This is another golf course that does not get regular attention from the major golf publications but is on par with some that do.  There is a lot of room around most holes with very minimal housing or other manmade structures.  The course has a north-woods parkland style with lots of trees, sand, ponds, and water.  There are a lot of unique hole designs and conditions of the greens, fairways, traps, and tee boxes were all very good.  Large modern clubhouse with full proshop and full restaurant had excellent food in our opinion.  Full length driving range and practice green.  Carts had GPS.  Facility also has a 9 hole executive course called Savanna that we did not get a chance to see.

Condition*

8.9

Conditions of the greens, tee boxes, and hazards were all very good.  Fairways had a few minor blemishes but did not seem to affect play and overall were also very good.

Playability

9.1

Course is well balanced and interesting.  Does not really drop the ball anywhere.  Good risk/reward without being too difficult except a couple greens that had pin placements borderline too aggressive.  Lots of room on most holes.

Visual Impact

9.0

As noted above, solid visuals of a north woods parkland style course.  Trees, water, and sand all accounted for and look really nice.
