Course Highlights

Northern Bay is set in a resort community on the lake.  The first few holes wind through the buildings and then spread out across lots of land.  Its hard to peg the exact style since many of the holes are replicas of famous holes like Augusta #13 and TPC Sawgrass island green.  The replicas are very interesting to play and would be the highlight of the facilities!  The remaining holes are a mix of parkland and prairie styling.  This is a very unique experience and hard to find anywhere else.  Full bar, restaurant, and pro-shop available in the large clubhouse.  Friendly and helpful staff.

Condition*

7.9

Greens were in good condition with many interesting contours particularly on the replica holes.  Some traps and tee boxes were in good condition and some were a little less.  Some fairways were good and some pretty rough.

Playability

8.5

Greens contours were very fun along with many of the hole design choices.  Decent risk/reward decisions and not many blind shots or forced carries.  Solid playability overall.

Visual Impact

8.4

Several of the holes had unique and great visual appeal.  Certainly lots of variety.  Occasionally offset by conditions that take the visual appeal down a little bit.  Overall a lot to see and enjoy.
